Cardiology is the area of medical specialization which studies the heart and its diseases.

Dr. Damien Prioux practices general and interventional cardiology at the Jolimont Hospital since 1996. He completed an additional year of specialization in interventional cardiology in Lille, allowing him to perform coronary angiograms (with or without balloon dilatation) and, if necessary, placement of stents in the coronary arteries. These examinations are performed in ultra-modern facilities for coronary angiography, adjacent to the cardiac surgical units of the Jolimont hospital and are typically realized on a one-day hospitalisation basis. These procedures permit in most cases to avoid cardiac bypass operations .
